You've already got it!

I have just finished reading some things that were posted on another blog. After reading, I felt lead to interject some references from God's word, as well as my favorite evangelist.

Andrew Wommack tells a story from his early pastoring days... Andrew reports that he only had an income of $1200.00 annually! He was pastoring a church and had just recently returned from Vietnam. The Bible that he owned was mildewed from the environment and was missing chapters and even entire books of the Bible. So his faith project was to believe God for a new Bible.... To make a long story short, when Andrew was walking out of the store with the new bible under his arm, there was no doubt in his mind that he had his new bible!

You may say, of course there was no doubt in his mind, he already had it. That's is the point, you already have it! You need to get the idea out of your head that if you only had more faith you would be able to see miracles performed in your life. The truth is, you already have all the faith you need to receive any and everything in this life you need, and I'm going to show you this truth through God's word.
You are a 3 part being (1 Thessalonians 5:23), and your born again spirit looks just like Jesus! You have inside you the faith that it took to raise Lazarus from the dead! Look at Galatians 2:16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ..." not faith in Jesus Christ, but by his faith. scroll down to verse 20. About midway through the verse Paul says, The Life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God. There's that phrase again. So it's not faith that you're trying to get or faith that you are trying to grow, but you already have "the measure" (Romans 12:3) of faith and it is complete and full!
Someone once asked Reinhardt Bonke (?) "why is it he sees more miracles in Africa and other 3rd world countries than we see here in America, was it because they have more faith?" He responded by saying that was an invalid question and that Americans are the only ones who have this concept of little faith big faith.
So why don't we see the things come to pass in our lives that we believe for? Well, there could be several reasons, but one is that we haven't learned to release the massive abundance of faith that we have inside us!
Galatians 5:22 says that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, lonsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance... So if you are filled with God's Holy Spirit then you already have the fullness of all these things and therefore you need to learn through God's Word how to release them in your life and enjoy them. I believe that Faith is released by the words that you speak, and you learn what to speak by studying the word of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) As I've said, I don't believe that we receive more faith, but that the faith inside of us comes when we hear God's word... So if you want to see more manifestation in your life, learn to release God's faith that he placed in your life when you heard the Word preached and received Jesus as Lord!

One last thing that I think will help. Many times, an old testament reference is used as a crutch by new testament believers... It's from 1 Corinthians 2:9, " But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." That's where most people stop, but the next scripture says that God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. You see the old testament believers didn't have the Holy Spirit to give them wisdom and insight! But Glory to God we do! That is why it was better for Jesus to go away, that the Holy Spirit would come! The answers are out there, we just have to learn to tap into the rich wisdom of God, and 1 Corinthians 1:30 says that we are in Christ Jesus, and God has made him to be unto us wisdom... Jesus is the Word! (John 1:14)
I hope this has encouraged you, some of these truths are new to me and I am excited to come to realize that I'm not trying to get more faith, but that everything that I need has already been provided for me! That's just awesome!

  1. I guess for me right now...the only thing I can think of is "when you've done all to stand...stand"
I'm going through a particularly tough time spiritually right now Cale and I'm frustrated as can be.
As much as i LOVE Andrew Wommack and his books...it is reading them that is getting me so frustrated. He makes it as though this whole thing is so simple...but when you're told "such and such will happen if you do this and that" and then it doesn't...???
ohhh....I could blabber on and on and on....but honestly, I'm doing everything I know to do (reading the Word, listenting to preaching tapes, praise & worship, praying in the Spirit, praying in English, tithing, offering, witnessing, etc) Why does it seem that NOTHING is working?
Yesterday I was shampooing the carpet. The part of the shampooer that releases the soap wasn't working. I messed with it for about an hour and was getting very aggrivated until I finally decided enough was enough. I (out loud) quoted that "God has given us all authority" and that if Jesus commanded the fig tree to dry up and it did...then surely I can command this shampooer to work. I said "Shampooer, in Jesus name I command you to work. I have authority over every thing and you WILL work!" Then I thanked God that it was working.
I kept shampooing---but no soap. I stopped, I said it all again...with FORCE. I told the shampooer--YOU MUST WORK in JESUS NAME!
An hour later, I put the thing up because it was time to pick the kids up from school...and still...it never worked.
I completely 100% believed it was going to work. I was so convinced of it that I had to get down on my hands and knees and check because I couldn't believe it was NOT working...but it wasn't.

    I just don't understand...

It's like I'm begging God to give me a sign that He's still here...He still cares about what I ask.
In reality, I know that is ridiculous...of COURSE He cares and He is there...but I have been praying for some very specific things recently and thusfar, they are all still prayer requests. I need a testimony about now...

Am I doing something wrong that you can see?
    Maybe God is testing me?

I know it's not "works"...but God does call us to do certain things--such as build up ourselves and renew our minds, etc...and I'm doing all of that.

  3. The thing that comes to mind first jen is Hebrews 10:36.... Then this came to me, rejoice in the lord always, and again I say rejoice! Stop asking and thinking about the things you need and thank god for the many blessings that you already have.... When the things you need speak to you (as the dig tree spoke to Jesus), speak back to them and tell them that they're not a big deal and that god is good and faithful!
I watched Andrew's teaching from his monday broadcast this morning, I'm a few days behind, and it was just awesome and I think would be beneficial. You can watch it by going to awmi.net...... I hope I've helped. Just know that god still speaks to us today and he has the answe that you need, sometimes that just requires being still and listening...
